Moving contacts to static segments using form submit action

This process is useful for categorizing contacts based on their actions, such as form submissions, which can help in targeted marketing campaigns. For example, you can move contacts who register for an event into a specific segment for event attendees.

Create a Segment and set it to Public before following this tutorial.

Steps

1. Navigate to the standalone form you want to use for this action (or create one).
2. Open the form details and click for editing.
3. Go to the "Actions" tab and click on "Add new submit action".
4. From the list of actions, select "Modify Contacts Segments".
5. Configure the action:
   • Give a name to the action, such as "Move to Event Attendees Segment".
   • In the "Add to Segment" field, type the name of the static segment you want to add the contact to and select it.
6. Click Save and Close to apply the changes to the form.

Submit the form to ensure that contacts are moved to the specified segment as expected.

Results

• Contacts are added to the specified static segment
• Changes in segment membership will be reflected in the contact's event history.
