Creating Point Actions¶
Point Actions in Mautic allow you to assign or deduct points from Contacts based on specific behaviors or interactions they complete.
Info
When defining your Point Action triggers, think about the key interactions that demonstrate a Contact is engaged and progressing through your campaigns.
Steps¶
- In Mautic, click on Points in the main menu, then select "Point Actions".
- Click the "+ New" button located in the top right corner of the Point Actions screen.
- Provide a clear, identifiable name for the Point Action. This is how it will be listed.
- Include any additional details about the action to differentiate it from similar ones.
- Enter the number of points to award or deduct. For deductions, include a minus (-) sign.
- Under "Action taken by the contact", specify the behavior or action the Contact must complete.
- On the right side, select a Category to organize the Point Action if desired.
- Decide if the action should be activated immediately or at a later date. Unactive actions will not award points. Optionally set a deactivation date as well.
- Select "Yes" if points should be awarded each time the action is completed, or "No" if it should only occur on the first instance.
- Click "Save & Close" to create the Point Action and exit, or "Save" to remain on the creation screen.
Success
Focus on quality over quantity - too many Point Actions can become difficult to manage and dilute the meaning of the points.
Results¶
You will know you have successfully created a Point Action when it is listed on the Point Actions screen with the correct name and point value.
