Creating a Focus item¶
Focus items are a powerful way to engage users on your website through bars, modals, notifications and full page takeovers.
They can be triggered at different times and with actions like exit intent to capture leads, promote sales, or deliver important messages.
Steps¶
- In Mautic, go to Channels > Focus Items
- Click +New in the upper right to create a new focus item
- Enter the name of your focus item
- Select the website where the focus item preview will appear
- Choose the focus item type based on your goal:
- Collect data - uses a Mautic form to capture lead info
- Display a notice - shows text-based info or announcements
- Emphasize a link - displays a button linking to a page
- Build your focus item in the builder on the right:
- Add content, images, forms, buttons etc. as needed
- Style the colors, fonts and appearance
- Set when the item appears (after delay, on scroll, on exit intent)
- When finished, click the Close Builder button
- Copy the Focus Installation code snippet
- Paste the code before the closing
</body>tag on your website - Save & Close to activate the focus item
What will happen after completing the steps¶
- The focus item is live on your website and will display to visitors
- To test, visit the webpage and trigger the focus item
- Leads and interactions will be tracked in Mautic
- You can view results under the focus item's detail page
