Assign Tags based on Point thresholds

Point Triggers in Mautic allow you to automatically add or remove tags from contacts when they reach a certain number of points. This is useful for segmenting and targeting contacts based on their level of engagement.

Info

Plan out your point values and triggers in advance to create a logical scoring system. Assign points for both positive actions (e.g. email opens) and negative actions (e.g. email unsubscribes).

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Points menu in your Mautic instance.
  2. Click on Manage Triggers.
  3. On the loaded page, click New Trigger to create a new point trigger.
  4. Name the trigger, e.g. "Add VIP tag".
  5. Select Modify contact's tags as the event to happen at this trigger.
  6. Choose whether to Add tags or Remove tags.
  7. Enter the tag you want to add or remove.
  8. Set the minimum number of points the contact must have to trigger this event. Can be positive or negative.
  9. Save the point trigger and activate it.

Results

When a contact reaches the specified number of points, the tag will be automatically added or removed from their contact record and start or stop being part of segments that use this tag as a filter, for example.

Info

The tagging will be reflected on the contact's profile in Mautic.
