Creating a new campaign¶
Campaigns in Mautic allow you to build automated workflows to nurture contacts, such as sending a series of emails over time. Campaigns are made up of various decisions, actions, and conditions.

Before creating your campaign, ensure you have the necessary contact segments or forms in place to feed your campaign.
Steps¶
- Navigate to the Campaigns page in the left menu and click New.
- Enter a name for the campaign. Description and category are optional.
- Set the Active toggle to No while building the campaign to prevent errors.
- Click Launch Campaign Builder to start defining the campaign workflow.
- In the Contact Sources tab, select where to pull contacts from, such as segments or forms.
- Add decisions, actions and conditions onto the canvas to build out the workflow. Navigating the campaign builder interface
- Configure each element, such as selecting the email to send, time delays, updating contact fields, etc. Configure campaign event settings
- When finished building, go back to the main campaign screen and set Active to Yes to activate it.
- Just Save.

Email campaigns can include not only emails but also updates to contact stages, segment additions, and changes to contact owners based on engagement.
What will happen?¶
- The campaign is active and will start processing contacts who meet the defined criteria
- Contacts will flow through the campaign's workflow and have actions taken on them automatically
- Campaign analytics will show metrics on emails sent, contacts added, conversion rates, etc.
Success
Start with a simple campaign focused on a single goal to get familiar with the builder. Test the campaign with a small segment first. As you get more comfortable, build in more decision paths and actions to create robust, targeted campaigns.
