Creating text messages from Campaign Builder¶
Mautic's Campaign Builder allows you to create Template Text Messages directly within the tool, making it easy to build SMS touchpoints into your automated workflows.
By crafting targeted messages in the context of your campaign logic, you can ensure each SMS is relevant and timely for the recipient.
Note
A single SMS is limited to 160 characters. Longer messages get split into multiple texts.

Steps¶
- Open the Campaign Builder creating a new campaign on the Campaigns page.
- Add a Contact Source that will enroll contacts into the campaign, such as a form submission
- Click to add a new Campaign Action
- Select Send Text Message as the action type
- Instead of choosing an existing text message, click New Text Message
- Compose your SMS message in the template editor that appears
- Save the new text message
- Complete the rest of your campaign flow as needed with additional actions, decisions, or conditions
- Launch the campaign when ready

As you plan to use this Text Message within a Campaign, it’s by default created as a Template Text Message and show the relevant fields accordingly.
Success
Mautic provides reporting on SMS campaign performance, such as how many messages were sent.
