How to send emails using campaigns

Sending emails through campaigns in Mautic is a powerful way to automate your marketing efforts and ensure your messages reach the right audience at the right time.

With campaigns, you can engage with contacts in a segment, nurture leads, or prove transactional information.

Info

It’s useful to learn how to create segments, forms and emails before following this guide.

Steps

  1. Log in to your Mautic dashboard.
  2. Create a new segment by navigating to the segments section and entering the necessary details like name and filters.
    • Skip this step if you plan to use form submissions as a contact source.
  3. Design your email by clicking on 'emails' and then 'new template email'. Enter the subject, internal name, and use the Builder to design your email content.
    • Save your email template after designing it to your satisfaction.
  4. Set up a new campaign by clicking on 'Campaigns' from the menu and then 'new'.
  5. Fill a name and other settings then click on Save.
  6. Launch the campaign Builder.
  7. Define the campaign flow, starting with selecting the segment you created as the source (or a form, for example).
  8. Add actions to your campaign clicking on +, such as 'send email', and specify which email to send and when.
  9. Incorporate decisions like 'modify contact tags' to segment contacts based on their interaction with the email.
  10. Test your email to ensure the unsubscribe link and other functionalities are working correctly (note that the unsubscribe link doesn’t work in test emails).
  11. Launch the campaign by finalizing and activating it within Mautic.

Results

You should see your email being sent to the contacts in the selected segment accessing the Campaign details and going on the Actions tab.
