Creating a new form¶
Creating a new form in Mautic is a fundamental task for lead generation and data collection. It involves choosing the right form type, adding necessary fields, and ensuring the form aligns with your goals.
Steps¶
- Log in to your Mautic dashboard.
- Navigate to the ‘Forms’ page, inside the Components menu.
- Click on the ‘New’ button to create a new form.
- Select the type of form: campaign or standalone.

After selecting the form type, you’ll see an editing screen. The form builder interface includes three main tabs, where you can find:
- Details: Basic settings and configurations for the form.
- Fields: Define and customize the fields that will appear on the form.
- Actions: Specify actions to be taken upon form submission, such as sending an email or adding the contact to a segment.
- So Add the desired form fields and configure their settings.
- Set up form actions that will occur after submission.
- Customize the form's appearance selecting a theme.
- Save the form and test it to ensure it functions correctly.
- Embed the form on your website, landing page, or use it in email campaigns as needed.

What’s the difference between the form types?
Campaign forms in Mautic are designed to be an integral part of a larger marketing campaign, gathering information that feeds into a workflow within the campaign builder.
In contrast, standalone forms in Mautic are used to capture visitor information and can be configured to trigger actions upon form submission, with no campaigns dependency.
Results¶
- A new, functional form is created and ready for deployment.
- Form appears correctly on your website when deployed.
- Data collection starts as users fill out the form.
- Actions trigger as configured when form submissions occur.
