Manually moving contacts (batch updating contacts)

Manually moving contacts to static segments in Mautic is essential for organizing contacts based on specific criteria that are not dynamically updated. This process is useful for one-time campaigns or when you need to manually curate a list of contacts for targeted communication.

Info

We’re assuming you already have a segment created for this purpose.

Steps

  1. Log in to your Mautic account.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts page from the main menu.
  3. Select the contacts you want to move by checking the checkboxes next to their names. You can use the search bar to filter contacts based on specific criteria.
  4. Click the green arrow at the top of the column to open the batch actions menu.
  5. Select Add to Segment from the dropdown menu.
  6. Choose the static segment you want to move the contacts to from the list of available segments.
  7. Confirm the action by clicking the Save button. The selected contacts will be moved to the chosen static segment.
  8. Verify the update by navigating to the Segments details and checking the contact list within the static segment to ensure all selected contacts have been added.

Results

  • Contacts are added to the specified static segment.
  • Segment membership is updated accurately reflecting the manual addition of contacts.
  • Contacts receive communications and are included in campaigns associated with the static segment.

Success

For large batches of contacts, consider breaking the process into smaller groups to avoid performance issues.
