Scheduling campaign events¶
Events allow you to predefine a series of timed actions that respond automatically based on contact behaviors, decisions and timelines.
Timing options¶
These are the options:
Immediate: The action will execute as soon as the contact reaches that point in the campaign flow. This is useful for actions you want to happen right away, like sending a welcome email when a contact first enters a campaign.
Time period: You can specify a delay in days, hours, or minutes before the action triggers. This allows spacing out campaign touches. For example, waiting 3 days after the welcome email before sending a follow-up message.
Scheduled Date/Time: For precise control, you can schedule actions to execute at an exact date and time in the future. This is handy for coordinating sends with external events like sales promotions that start on a certain date.
Success
You can build campaigns with an endless number of parameters, including different conditions and decisions.
How to use¶
Steps¶
- Go to the Campaign Builder.
- Add the desired events and actions to the campaign workflow, such as sending emails, waiting periods, tracking opens/clicks, etc.
- For each event, configure the scheduling options:
- Immediate: Triggers as soon as the contact reaches that point
- Relative time period: Triggers after a delay of a specified number of days/hours
- Specific date/time: Triggers at an exact scheduled time
Note
To optimize sending times, use the "Scheduled only" options on email actions to deliver during specific time windows like business hours.
You’ll see¶
Campaign events and actions will trigger for contacts according to the defined schedule.
